The Sugar Pine Bakery is a purveyor of fresh baked goods and baking supplies, utilizing berries, eggs, sunflower oil, sugar pine syrup, and other fresh local ingredients. Alymer and Linnaeus Dumplin believe in supporting the local community. You can find many products made locally or foraged by village residents in the Shop Local section. Skilled baker Alymer supplies villagers with fresh bread and pastries as well as elaborate patisseries for special occasions. While Alymer bakes and serves customers downstairs, his husband Linnaeus works upstairs processing pine nut flour in the mill. The bakery and mill are housed in a sugar pine tree grown from a pine nut that Alymer’s family carried with them from Arizona many years ago.
Emmi (aka Emma) moved to Bozeman from Arizona just in time to visit last year’s fairy village, and she was immediately drawn to participate. Her dogs Koda and Riley love to explore nature with her, while her cats, Ghoul, Hotdog, and Pigeon, are very content to wait for her at home. Emmi loves designing and creating stickers and greeting cards (some of which you might spy in the Shop Local section of the bakery) and she uses natural and foraged elements to make curiosity displays featuring bugs and bones. The Sugar Pine Bakery concept is an homage to her home in Arizona on the Mogollon Rim, where sugar pine trees nestle among the ponderosas and she and her best friend delighted in tasting their sweet sap and smelling their sugar cookie aroma. You can find Emmi and her sister selling their art at local farmers markets, and you can explore her work online here.
