This is the summer home of the Urukay (pronounced OOH-roo-kai) family: father Tatay Bawi, mother Nanay Ima, and their children Adelina and little Bunga. All summer long, Adelina and Bunga play with their friends in the village, racing maple seed whirligigs, tickling caterpillars and (inexpertly) practicing magic tricks. Bunga has turned himself into a cricket more than once! Adelina is excited to apprentice at the International Tooth Fairy Training Academy, where she hopes to study someday. Every night the family rolls out their sleeping mats and Nanay Ima reads aloud until everyone nods off.
Pinky Labog Keightley lives with her husband near downtown Bozeman. They have three cats name Wesley, Jonathan and Elsa. Jonathan and Elsa are her quality control assistants. Elsa loves to sleep inside the fairy house when Pinky isn’t working on it, so she ended up making another one just for Elsa. Pinky loves painting, photography, mixed media and art journaling. Born and raised in the Philippines, Pinky’s fairy house is inspired by the homes of the Mangyan people, who live on the Philippine island of Mindoro. She loves the way the fairy village makes people happy and is delighted to be participating this year. You can find Pinky on Facebook and YouTube.
